Job Overview

Brand managers are responsible for the strategic management of the assigned brand(s) in order to achieve the business targets including awareness, volume, spend, and penetration.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • BS degree in Business Management, Marketing or any related field, Master degree in Fashion or any related field
  • 4 to 7 years directly related to the job summary

Job Qualifications & Requirements

Key Accountabilities

  • Achieve targeted sales for respective brands
  • Achieve gross margins for respective brands
  • Ensure adherence to visual standards as per brands/company requirements
  • Improve stock turns for respective brands
  • Prepare seasonal OTB
  • Increase footfall conversion into stores through adequate offering and promotional and marketing tools
  • Negotiate best terms and conditions with suppliers
  • Build and maintain relationships with key personnel of licensees, suppliers, etc
  • Source new brands and present new ranges to Commercial Manager to complete and complement existing brands mix.

 

Supervisory Activities

  • Ensure proper allocation of merchandise based on sales trends and demand
  • Analyze every aspect of bestsellers (for example, the bestselling items, price points products, colors or styles) and ensure that bestsellers reach their full potential;
  • Monitor slow sellers and take actions as necessary;
  • Plan for withdrawal and redistribution of merchandise from/to stores & warehouses
  • Plan promotional programs as per seasonal calendar
  • Ensure that visual standards are communicated and implemented across stores directly or through visual merchandiser/retail coordinators
  • Visits stores regularly and understand key issues with brands from sales team
  • Establish direct contact with customers during store visits to gain feedback on brand performance, gaps in assortment and merchandise, customer services, etc
  • Communicate issues to other departments and plan course of action
  • Ensure regular training is provided to team members
  • Evaluate and motivate brands related staff

 

Execution Activities

  • Prepare seasonal buy budget
  • Prepare OTB (Assortments, Product Mix)
  • Participate in setting sales targets for the brands
  • Meet with suppliers in order to negotiate cost prices, place seasonal orders, order stock, agree timescales and delivery dates, and complete the necessary paperwork
  • Design the pricing strategy based on pre-defined markups and market study
  • Approve on order confirmations, invoices, payments and shipments.
  • Monitor brand performance through analytical reports
  • Analyze weekly sales reports especially, Week to Date (WTD) and On Hand Stock levels from this year (TY) to last year (LY).
  • Monitor and manage Brands profitability by driving full price sales
  • Plan product ranges/themes and prepare sales and stock plans
  • Follow-up on new brands performance and profitability to assess success or failure and take necessary actions
  • Conduct regular visits to the stores to control the quality of retail standards and gather sales team feedback on customers reactions to the relative goods
  • Undertake sales forecasting and monitoring of inventory levels across the brands
  • Undertake stock transfers across locations based on sales reports and inputs from stores
  • Implement marketing, cross selling activities and media planning activities for advertising by coordinating with marketing and CRM Departments.
  • Undertake promotions across brands along with assistance from team members
  • Undertake competition store visits on a regular basis and communicate all aspects of competition including traffic, product innovations and performance, floor moves, price value, etc
  • Visit suppliers abroad, attend fashion fairs (for clothes, shoes & accessories) in order to follow-up on latest fashion trends and gather a fashion culture.
  • Provide inputs to team members for improving brand performance & undertaking brand rationalization/ evaluation
  • Undertake problem solving activities related to team members
  • Prepare a seasonal travel schedule and prepare related travel budget.

 

Coordination Activities

  • Coordinate with MIS department for proper processing of orders and data entry
  • Coordinate with Logistics supervisor to track merchandise ordered and prepare shipping schedule
  • Coordinate with marketing and CRM departments for execution of marketing and promotional activities
  • Coordinate with Visual Merchandise Coordinators & Retail Coordinators for execution of visual merchandising activities and changes in display for brands
  • Coordinate with International business manager to support operation in other countries
  • Coordinate with Sales team to understand customer preferences & buying behaviour
  • Coordinate with suppliers and external entities for assistance required to carry out role efficiently
  • Inform and update all related departments of all transactions or procedures that suppliers/brands affected or intended to execute (i.e.-defects, discounts, shipments, invoices, credits notes, change in contract terms, ownership, business conditions…)
  • Assist commercial manager and provide input related to brands.
  • Coordinate with the warehouses the Entry, pricing, distribution and re-distribution of goods.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as required.
